Bournemouth head coach Andoni Iraola is sweating over the fitness of no fewer than three players ahead of Friday's Premier League opener with champions Liverpool at Anfield.
The Cherries will definitely be missing Enes Unal and Lewis Cook on account of their knee injuries, while Luis Sinisterra (thigh), Justin Kluivert (calf) and Ryan Christie (groin) have also been nursing problems in pre-season.
Speaking last weekend, Iraola revealed that Sinisterra could have potentially played in their final pre-season fixture, and Christie was due to train this week, but Kluivert has run into some unforeseen issues in his rehabilitation.
As a result, Marcus Tavernier could occupy the number 10 role for the visitors, flanked by the dangerous Antoine Semenyo and Dango Ouattara, who should be involved despite links with a move to Brentford.
David Brooks is a viable alternative to Ouattara, but whichever supporting cast lines up at Anfield will be feeding Evanilson, who is a guaranteed starter while Unal recuperates from his long-term knee injury.
Further back, Christie's long-standing groin concern and Cook's absence should lead to starts for Tyler Adams and Alex Scott in the double pivot, but Iraola is not spoiled for choice whatsoever in defence.
All of Kepa Arrizabalaga, Dean Huijsen, Milos Kerkez and Illia Zabarnyi have moved on, but the Cherries have at least poached Adrien Truffert from Rennes, and the Frenchman will almost certainly make his Premier League debut from the off at left-back.
Truffert should comprise part of a back four also housing Julian Araujo, Marcos Senesi and James Hill, while Djordje Petrovic starts in goal following his arrival from Chelsea.
Bournemouth possible starting lineup:
Petrovic; Araujo, Senesi, Hill, Truffert; Adams, Scott; Semenyo, Tavernier, Ouattara; Evanilson
