Newcastle United supporters have made it clear that they would rather Alexander Isak sat in the reserves for the entire season than join Liverpool in a British record transfer deal.
The 25-year-old has had his head turned after a £110m bid from the Premier League champions last month, and on Tuesday, it was reported that he was "adamant" he would never play for the Magpies again.
The Sweden international has three years left on his current deal at St James' Park, a contract he signed after joining from Real Sociedad for £63m.
But after the events of the last couple of weeks, it is difficult to see how Isak, who has reportedly moved out of his house in the North East, can revive his career at St James' Park.
And it seems that some Newcastle fans believe that to be the case, too, with a recent survey from Chronicle Live revealing that 39% of the 7,000 participants would prefer the Magpies to do "anything but sell him to Liverpool".
Meanwhile, 30% would happily see the wantaway forward sit in the club's reserves squad.
On the other hand, 25% of the supporters who took part in the survey would be happy to see Isak depart St James' Park, either permanently or on loan, before the end of the window.
It means just six per cent of supporters would happily see the Sweden international reintegrated into the Newcastle United squad for the 25/26 season.
Newcastle have been linked with several forward options in recent weeks after missing out on Benjamin Sesko, Liam Delap, Joao Pedro and Hugo Ekitike.
Chelsea's Nicolas Jackson is said to favour a move to Newcastle after being told he can leave Stamford Bridge, while Brentford's Yoane Wissa remains a target.
