Player ‘on his way to Fulham’ once he agrees to salary reduction – Transfer talked up

On Tuesday, Gazzetta dello Sport reported Inter Milan’s Mehdi Taremi will make a decision between joining Leeds United or Fulham soon.

The Iran international is convinced about moving to the Premier League, with his entourage having been informed by the Nerazzurri to look for a new club.

Today’s Gazzetta dello Sport reports the 33-year-old is ‘on his way to Fulham’ and only negotiations regarding his salary are pending.

As things stand, the London club will not meet his €3m per season salary but if the striker agrees to lower that wage demand, the final details of the transfer will be sorted out quickly.

The newspaper are convinced that Fulham have now beaten competition from Leeds United, Nice and Nottingham Forest, with ex-Iran international Ashkan Dejagah’s advice about the move proving key for Taremi.

Corriere dello Sport are also convinced that the ex-Porto player has chosen Marco Silva’s side as his next destination.

They also indicate that Taremi will lower his wage demands, as he wants to stay in Europe and sees Fulham as an attractive opportunity.

Inter want only around €6m to €8m to sell the player and are now hoping for a quick closure of the move.

We would note that only last week it was suggested Inter Milan may only get a token fee or nothing at all, so the fee is worth keeping an eye on.
