Hornets release preseason schedule

The Charlotte Hornets have unveiled their full preseason schedule.

The full schedule:

* **Sunday October 5th at 5:00pm** vs Oklahoma City Thunder in Charleston

* **Thursday October 9th time TDB** at Oklahoma City Thunder

* **Saturday October 11th at 8:30pm** at Dallas Mavericks

* **Wednesday October 15th at 7:00pm** vs Memphis Grizzlies in Greensboro

* **Friday October 17th at 7:30pm** at New York Knicks

[We found out last month](https://atthehive.com/2025/07/15/hornets-playing-home-preseason-games-in-charleston-and-greensboro/) that the Hornets were going to be playing their two home preseason games in Charleston and Greensboro while the organization finishes up renovations at Spectrum Center. Hopefully those games go well and encourage the team to do things like that more even when the arena is available. The Hornets could afford to rally some fan support in other local markets outside of Charlotte. While it doesn’t have a huge impact, putting preseason games in other places does give fans there something to connect with and can generate some buzz for the team.

The other three games are on the road against teams that are supposed to be good this season. While that doesn’t really matter in the preseason, it does give the Hornets some good tests to get their feet wet heading into the season.

The opening night of the regular season is Tuesday October 21, and NBC had [a pretty sweet promo for it](https://x.com/NBAonNBC/status/1955236604903075867). That means the Hornets will most likely tip off their 2025-26 season on October 22nd. The opponent is to be determined, but the full schedule will likely be out in the next week or two.
