Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand was recently asked about Chelsea target Alejandro Garnacho.
Garnacho is set to leave Ferdinand‘s former club this summer, with Chelsea being his most likely destination.
Chelsea have spoken to United about Garnacho and are now in the process of trying to finalise a deal for the winger.
As well as Garnacho, the Blues are also trying to sign Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig before the transfer window closes.

Rio Ferdinand would love to see Alejandro Garnacho stay at Manchester United
Garnacho is not the most popular figure at Old Trafford right now, partly because of some of his activity on social media.
Ferdinand, though, would love for the 21-year-old to stay at United. However, the former Red Devils captain accepts that Ruben Amorim does not see him as a good fit for the team.
“I’ve said for a long time, as a football player, I wouldn’t want to see him go,” Ferdinand told talkSPORT when asked about Garnacho. “But football’s not just about what you do out on the pitch.
“I think everything’s got to marry up, and if the manager deems that he’s not the right type that he wants at the football club, then we’ve just got to hold our hands up and say, ‘Well you’ve got to do what you’ve got to do’. But I’d love to see Garnacho at the club for years because I think he’s an asset.”

Ferdinand’s desire for Garnacho to remain at United and not move to Stamford Bridge is not a shock. At the end of the day, the Argentina international is still a talented winger with a lot of potential.
He scored 11 goals and provided 10 assists in all competitions last season, which are very good numbers given his age and United’s struggles.
Ally McCoist also discussed Garnacho on talkSPORT, warning Chelsea to stay away from him. But United’s Premier League rivals are not going to listen to the Rangers legend.

Alejandro Garnacho already causing a buzz at Chelsea
Chelsea seem to be really excited about the prospect of Garnacho joining them.
According to the reliable Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea cannot wait to welcome Garnacho to Stamford Bridge.
Again, the Club World Cup winners still need to agree a deal with United, but they seem confident about doing so.
It is thought that Simons prefers Chelsea over Manchester City, so the Conference League holders are likely to be confident about signing the Netherlands international as well.
