Breakthrough made after Manchester United talks to agents – Player now ‘increasingly convinced’ transfer exit is right

On Tuesday, Calciomercato reported Manchester United have reached a draft agreement with AC Milan for the transfer of Rasmus Højlund.

Since last week, the deal has been stalling due to the striker’s unwillingness to join the Rossoneri.

A key turning point has now arrived. Gazzetta dello Sport report today that Højlund is ‘increasingly convinced’ about leaving Manchester United.

The Red Devils held discussions with his agents at SEG and it was made clear that Ruben Amorim’s project doesn’t have a place for the Dane after the arrival of Benjamin Šeško.

Due to this, Højlund is considering an exit from Manchester United and is waiting for Milan to present their project to him. He wants a detailed explanation of how they see his role.

There is a draft agreement between the two clubs over the terms of the deal but the finances have not been finalised.

The Italian giants value the player at €35m in total and intend to pay a loan fee of €3m to €4 million plus a buyout option set at €30m to €32m.

Manchester United want a total of €45m in the entire deal and would like a loan fee of around €7m.

Gazzetta are confident that even though there is a gap between the two parties, Højlund’s decision to finally seek an exit will play a vital role in an agreement.

Journalist Pietro Balzano Prota has reported further, claiming that Milan have made first contact with SEG for the 22-year-old, who is opening up to a move to the San Siro.

Everything suggests that now, the deal is going in the right direction once again.
