Aaron Rodgers recently admitted to feeling a bit out of place during the Steelers’ preseason opener in Jacksonville—describing how, despite 21 NFL seasons under his belt, he found himself wandering the field unsure of who to approach. He humorously compared himself to “pulling a Joe Biden” as he looked around, realizing he didn’t really know anyone on the Jaguars’ sidelines.
He was honest about only recognizing a few familiar faces—like Jaguars special teams coach Heath Farwell and QB Trevor Lawrence, whom he’d met “a couple of times.” That’s when powerhouse teammates Cam Heyward and T.J. Watt stepped in, offering company and a sense of belonging, essentially rescuing him from the awkward moment.

“You know, one of the weird things is, and I’m 21 years in the league, so I’m over there. Who do I know on Jacksonville?” Rodgers said. “I was kind of looking around going, doing a Joe Biden. Like, all right, well, I guess, I don’t know anybody here, so I’m gonna just walk off. And I found Cam and TJ, like, let’s walk next to them.”
Rodgers’ openness about the incident—laughing it off while also calling it a bit odd—showed both humility and humor.

Aaron Rodgers claps back at DK Metcalf, shoots down ‘dictator’ talk in chemistry clash
Aaron Rodgers recently opened up about building chemistry with new teammate DK Metcalf, and he had to clear a misconception: he’s not some egotistical “dictator” calling every shot. Rodgers explained that he welcomes input—especially from someone with Metcalf’s size and skill-set—which has helped their connection grow from day one.
Their bond started off strong during training camp, where Rodgers even offered Metcalf a polite heads-up about flushing the shared dorm bathroom at night—just a small gesture, but meaningful in showing he values respect and comfort off the field too. Early chemistry hasn’t fully clicked on the field yet, with a couple of misfires during drills, but both have laughed it off and seem genuinely committed to building that rapport
“I’m not a dictator out there,” Rodgers said. “I like input. I like seeing the game through your eyes. That’s something I told him from day one. I love watching a clip and hearing his thought process on a play.”
