It has been confirmed that Malick Thiaw has joined Newcastle, and he could be followed through the door by Jacob Ramsey.

Eddie Howe is a huge fan of Ramsey, who looks poised to fill the midfield gap left by Sean Longstaff following his move to Leeds United.
But Newcastle United will not stop after they land Ramsey, as they also aim to bring Yoane Wissa to St James’ Park.
Newcastle United handed fresh Yoane Wissa boost
Newcastle’s Wissa deal had hit problems, for reasons beyond their control.
Brentford want a replacement first, with Dango Ouattara targeted. In turn, that has meant that Bournemouth need a replacement before they can sanction his departure.

That has had a knock-on effect on Newcastle’s Wissa deal, but now the blockage could be passing.
That is because, according to Ben Jacobs on X, Bournemouth are in ‘advanced talks’ to sign Amine Adli from Bayer Leverkusen.
A £26million deal is close, with Jacobs stating that Adli is seen as Ouattara’s replacement at the Vitality Stadium.
That should allow Ouattara to join Brentford, which will allow Wissa to sign for Newcastle United.

Yoane Wissa deal will not impact Alexander Isak
Liverpool fans will hope that a Newcastle United deal for Wissa will help their pursuit of Alexander Isak. However, they will be sadly mistaken.
If Newcastle sign Wissa, that is not going to open the door for Isak to leave St James’ Park. The 28-year-old is being targeted as Callum Wilson’s replacement, rather than Isak’s.
For Newcastle to let Isak go, they will need to sign another striker on top of Wissa. That will be extremely difficult, as there are not a lot of top quality options out there for Eddie Howe to pursue.
While Isak wants to leave Newcastle, the reality is that he might have to stay.
