‘If that’s the case’: Southampton boss hands Tyler Dibling a new ultimatum amid Everton desire

Everton have been in talks to sign Southampton winger Tyler Dibling this summer transfer window.

The Toffees have had multiple bids rejected for Dibling, with their latest offer believed to be in the region of £43m.

Southampton are demanding around £50m to sanction the teenager’s sale, so it has been reported that David Moyes and his chiefs are looking elsewhere.

Whether that’s a negotiating tactic remains to be seen, but either way, Saints boss Will Still has now given Dibling a new ultimatum.

Southampton manager Will Still lifts lid on Everton target Tyler Dibling

Dibling has made it clear that he wants to leave Southampton for Everton and has been training alone recently.

He was absent from Saints’ Championship opener against Wrexham, but Still has now told him he can be involved if he shows the right attitude.

“I think as long as he’s here, he’ll be involved,” the 32-year-old said, via the Daily Echo.

“I think we’ve shown it with Matty Fernandes. But we just need to make sure that he’s getting the right headspace and committed to what we’re doing.

“If that’s the case, over the next couple of days, if he wants to be a part of it and he wants to be involved, then he will be. But ultimately, it’s pretty much down to him.”

Everton eyeing Abdul Fatawu as alternative to Tyler Dibling

Leicester City winger Abdul Fatawu has emerged as a target for Everton, with Moyes clearly keen on signing a left-footed right-winger.

The jet-heeled Ghanaian has just come off the back of an ACL injury, but looked back to his best in Leicester’s 2-1 win against Sheffield Wednesday on the weekend.

At the moment, Everton are unwilling to meet the Foxes’ demands, though, so they may end up back at Dibling.

There is a £7m gap in valuations between Everton and Southampton, so it does appear to be a doable deal.
