Nottingham Forest are reportedly considering a move for Liverpool’s Kostas Tsimikas this summer.
Nuno Espírito Santo’s side are owned by Evangelos Marinakis, who also owns Olympiacos. His involvement has seen the two clubs carry out business over the past few windows.
Nottingham Forest’s interest in the Liverpool player led to suggestions he could be sent to the Greek club, likely on loan. That obviously made the news in Greece.
Sportal takes a look at these claims and then provides their take on the Greece international returning to his country this summer.
It’s claimed this ‘information is half true’ because Nottingham Forest are keen on the 29-year-old. Olympiacos would like their former player to return one day, but it won’t be possible in the near future.
The Greek club are not looking to strengthen that position this summer.
He’s unlikely to have a future at Anfield even though he has a contract until 2027. Arne Slot is set to favour Andrew Robertson and summer signing Milos Kerkez ahead of him this season.
According to Sportal, Tsimikas doesn’t plan on returning to Greece right now and has made it clear that he wants to continue at the highest level if he leaves Liverpool.
Nottingham Forest is a possibility, and maybe then Olympiacos at some point in the future, but a Greece return is a longer term idea.
