Leeds United reach agreement to sign Dominic Calvert-Lewin
According to The Athletic, Leeds United have reached an agreement to sign Dominic Calvert-Lewin on a free transfer.
The former Everton man had been linked with a move to Elland Road for weeks. His representatives had already made contact with the Whites earlier this summer. Calvert-Lewin will undergo a medical at training ground Thorp Arch soon, before finalizing the details of a move.
He will become the club’s eighth signing of the summer
Can Calvert-Lewin deliver for Leeds?
His fitness will be a huge factor if he is to be considered a good signing ahead of the season. Dominic Calvert-Lewin has missed a lot of games over the past few years. Even when he has been fit, his goal tally has not been anything to write about.
Gary Lineker recently spoke on the prospect of Leeds signing the 28-year old:
“It’s hard to know. I suppose if you look back at his career there’s been a decent season or two. He’s got all the attributes [but], he’s not a clean finisher and that for a striker is an issue. He’s never going to be a 20/25 goals a season player even in a side that’s really attacking and has got creative players. I think in the end in football, you find your level.”
