Major update on Leeds United pursuit of £35M Ballon d’Or attacker

Leeds United are set to have a different looking attack heading into this season. They have already lost a big part of the same attack that scored 95 goals in the Championship last season.

Joel Piroe is still at the club, the striker scored 19 goals last season. But his backup options have been depleted, with Patrick Bamford not in the plans for next season and Mateo Joseph out on loan. Leeds will also be without Manor Solomon, who returned to his parent club Tottenham.

Daniel Farke complained that the club had failed to replace Solomon, who contributed 22 goal involvements in the Championship last season. The Whites still need some additions before the end of the month, considering that they will be without three players from last season.

Journalist gives update on Artem Dovbyk to Leeds United

AS Roma striker Artem Dovbyk has been linked with Leeds in the last couple of weeks. There were reports that the Ukrainian was unhappy and looking for a way out. Now, Matteo Moretto has given the inside details on the situation:

“Roma has not received proposals for Dovbyk as of now, and I’ve also been told the Leeds track is very cold at this moment, as of August 12, 15:44, which is when I’m recording this video.

“Leeds and Dovbyk is a very cold situation, and I’ve also been told that right now, Artem Dovbyk is very, very focused on Roma. He wants to do well with Gasperini, wants to convince everyone by continuing to score goals. That’s exactly what Dovbyk has done and achieved over the past season. So Dovbyk’s focus is entirely on Roma.

“We’ll see if, in the next few weeks, anything changes or if an important offer arrives. At that point, it will be up to Roma to decide which path to take with Dovbyk. But as of now, there is no indication that Leeds is seriously pursuing Dovbyk. We’ll see how discussions develop from here.”

Leeds need to move on to other options

The Whites do not have to make the mistake of getting a player who is not interested in a move to England. Dovbyk seems fine on staying in Italy, and Roma have set their price. If Leeds have no plans of signing the player, then they need to move on to other targets.

There are just a few weeks till the transfer window shuts.
