United&Amorim preparing for record-breaking double swoop

Man United & Ruben Amorim have set their sights on Gianluigi Donnarumma and Carlos Baleba for this summer window.

United and Amorim eye Donnarumma

Old Trafford could be bracing for a blockbuster end to the transfer window. Now, Manchester Utd is pushing to land PSG’s Gianluigi Donnarumma.

The Italian star is considered one of the best keepers in the game. He is being lined up as the man to take over from Andre Onana. The keeper has only one year left on his PSG contract. Meanwhile, a new rival in Lucas Chevalier is arriving from Lille. That said, Donnarumma could be available for a bargain £43m.

The PSG star is the head coach Ruben Amorim’s ideal shot stopper. He is a proven winner and very successful with 12 major trophies. He is coming off a historic treble winning season playing for a top team in France. The keeper’s UCL experience, as well as his established shot-stopping credentials would mark an outlay for Utd. They want a leader in goal who can use his experience in the PL and European nights.

Baleba chase could smash transfer record

While Donnarumma might be the priority, manager Amorim is also determined to bringing in Brighton’s Carlos Baleba. The midfielder has established himself as one of the most thrilling young talents in England since his arrival.

With great energy, good ball control and great defensive workloads, Baleba hardly missed a minute last season. The Red Devils are reportedly willing to go as high as £87m to get him this summer. That would make him their most expensive signing of this summer transfer window.

The Seagulls are standing firm on their stance of keeping their star for at least another year. If Man United do manage to land both Donnarumma and Baleba, their total spend for the window would rocket to £325m.
