Approach made to sign Arsenal man in‘last few hours’–Arteta not keen on exit

Jakub Kiwior has had to settle for a back up role at Arsenal since joining them from Spezia in January 2023. He prefers to operate in the heart of defence and Mikel Arteta has used him in that role and also as a left-back.

Over the past few windows, the defender has been linked with a return to Italy and these links aren’t going away.

TuttoMercatoWeb now report AC Milan, who have long term interest in the 25-year-old, are back in the running to sign him. In the ‘last few hours’, the Serie A side have contacted Arsenal to assess the possible deal.

Milan have found that Arsenal are only planning to sell and aren’t opening to a loan move this summer. It’s claimed the Gunners value the Poland international between €25-30m.

This makes it ‘very expensive’ for Milan and the report adds Crystal Palace recently made an approach but aren’t willing to make an offer.

Despite his role at the Emirates, TMW say Kiwior is considered an important player for Mikel Arteta. This could be why Arsenal only want a sale, and then a replacement brought in, and aren’t considering any other formula.

The outlet says none of Kiwior’s suitors are willing to meet the Gunners’ request.

Kiwior’s desire is to play regularly and that’s unlikely to happen at Arsenal, at least as a centre-back, after Cristhian Mosquera’s arrival this summer.
