Liverpool now“looking”to get rid of“important”player alongside Elliott this summer–expert

**Liverpool are now “looking” to sell a popular player before the end of the current transfer window, according to former scout Mick Brown.**

The Reds could still move on a number of players this summer, with the likes of Harvey Elliott and Ben Doak among those who have been linked with exits.

Another individual who could also be on the move is Kostas Tsimikas, with the Greek pushed further down the pecking order after the arrival of Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth.

Speaking to [_Football Insider_](https://www.footballinsider247.com/liverpool-plan-to-accept-kostas-tsimikas-offer-after-arne-slot-statement/), Brown claimed that Liverpool want to get rid of the 29-year-old in the coming weeks, despite being an “important” squad player since arriving from Olympiakos back in 2020:

_“Liverpool are looking to let go of Tsimikas. The lad has done a good job over a number of years at Liverpool, he’s always been a reliable backup for Robertson and he’s done well whenever he’s come in._

_“He’s been seen as an important squad member on that basis, but that’s not the case any more. Now they’ve got Kerkez, Tsimikas’ value to the squad has dropped, and that was made clear when he was left out for the Community Shield._

_“Robertson still has a job to do there and he can rotate with Kerkez when needed. But for Liverpool, they don’t need more than two left-backs, and they see Tsimikas as a sellable asset at this stage of the window. As far as I know, there are a few clubs interested in him, so I would expect him to move on.”_

**The right time for Liverpool to sell Tsimikas?**

--------------------------------------------------

This summer feels like the right time for Tsimikas’ Liverpool adventure to reach its conclusion, with minutes unlikely to come his way, barring injuries to both Milos Kerkez and Andy Robertson.

The Greece international has been a popular figure, always connecting with teammates and supporters, and scoring the winning penalty in the 2022 FA Cup final, but selling him now makes sense.

Tsimikas’ current Liverpool contract expires in 2027, so they can still receive good money for him, and he will surely like the idea of being a regular starter elsewhere.

The ‘Greek Scouser’ will be remembered as a good servant and a reliable backup option to Robertson, and he is likely to get a positive reception if he ever returns to Anfield with another team.
