The Kansas City Chiefs have been one of the NFL’s best teams since Patrick Mahomes became their starter.

Analysts were worried that Mahomes wouldn’t be at his best without Tyreek Hill to depend on down the field, but he’s fared well without him to this point.
2024 was a tougher test with Rashee Rice succumbing to injury and having a depleted core of pass-catchers, but he managed to make do with his surroundings.
As the Chiefs head into the 2025 season, Mahomes and Co. seem more motivated than ever to win another Super Bowl, hoping to wash away the pain of losing in the title game a few months ago.
Analyst Nick Wright talked about this in a recent segment of “First Things First,” saying that Mahomes “has a chip on his shoulder” this season.
“They have the personnel to be the best, but here’s the most important thing. What they have that’s not quantifiable but I know it is for the first time in three years: chip on his shoulder Mahomes,” Wright said.

Wright has been a Chiefs supporter for years, often taking victory laps when the team performs well and wins the Super Bowl.
He recognizes that last season ended in heartbreak, but believes that this team has a strong DNA led by a quarterback who has been in this position before.
Mahomes is widely regarded as the best quarterback in the league, and with the proper motivation, there’s no telling what he will be able to accomplish over the next several months.
