Exclusive: Brighton chairman now has clear message for Manchester United amid Carlos Baleba pursuit

TBR Football understands that Brighton & Hove Albion remain firm on their stance over Carlos Baleba, and they intend on keeping him this month – but Manchester United have not gone away.

TBR Football can confirm that intermediaries working on Manchester United’s behalf have continued to touch base with Brighton, but they are getting little positivity back.

We are told that Carlos Baleba himself would be open to a deal, but is not actively pushing for the move such as we saw with Moises Caicedo.

Brighton are giving United and their intermediaries little encouragement to this point.

Exclusive: Brighton chairman Tony Bloom says no to Carlos Baleba sale

Chief correspondent Graeme Bailey exclusively revealed to TBR Football that Brighton chairman, Tony Bloom, is insisting that he does not want to sell Baleba – and that he usually “gets his way”.

Bailey states: “Brighton owner Tony Bloom does not want to sell this summer, and what Tony Bloom wants, more often than not, he gets his way.

“Brighton are firm in their stance on Baleba – it has not changed in recent days.

“Brighton have not planned on a Baleba sale in any way this month, and I am told that to go and get him is going to take Moises Caicedo-type money – well over £100million for Baleba.

“If United come with that sort of offer, then analytically thinking Brighton would have to consider it – every player has a price and at some point you sell – but they are not anticipating that sort of offer from United.”

Manchester United have Baleba alternatives

United do have Baleba alternatives, with TBR Football revealing six cheaper names they’re eyeing.

Morten Hjulmand

Angelo Stiller

Javi Guerra

Mikel Jauregizar

Lamine Camara

Lucien Agoume

Aside from that, United have Kobbie Mainoo, a generational talent – and someone who deserves more recognition around Old Trafford.

More on Baleba will materialise in the coming days, and be sure to check back to TBR Football for all the latest news on Manchester United and the Cameroonian.
