Lewtas joins England men’s coaching set-up for new season

Neil Ryan led the Under-17 side which just missed out on reaching the semi-finals in this summer’s U17 European Championships. The team has also qualified for the FIFA U17 World Cup in Qatar this November and will be led by Liam Bramley, with Ryan moving on to take charge of the Under-18 side and Will Antwi leading the Under-19s.

‘Greater continuity’

Dittmer, who is also FA Head of Coaching, said: “We are excited to be entering a new season that has particular significance given the revamped UEFA format across U17, U18, and U19 age groups, which we hope provides further unique opportunities for our players and teams. We are also excited to be taking part in the new-look FIFA U17 World Cup, having qualified in March 2025.

“In readiness, we have made adjustments in how we support our teams as staff. Notably, we have appointed two new phase leads in Chris and Kalam, who each bring a wealth of experience to the roles.

“Additionally, we have made a conscious effort to provide greater continuity in staffing across the cycles which naturally occur within the programme.”
