Southampton could finally sanction the sale of in-demand winger Tyler Dibling amid strong discussions with Everton.
Southampton have made a winning start to the season both in the Championship and the Carabao Cup.
The Saints followed up the 2-1 comeback victory over Wrexham on Saturday afternoon with a 1-0 win against Northampton Town in Tuesday’s cup clash.
Saints boss Will Still chose not to call on the services of winger Tyler Dibling within the two wins given his links for a big-money move to Everton.
After Southampton rejected an offer from the Toffees for the English starlet, their latest “counter-offer” has emerged that could see the deal completed.

Southampton make ‘counter-offer’ to Everton for Tyler Dibling
Throughout the summer transfer window, the future of Southampton star Dibling has hung in the balance.
EFL Analysis exclusively revealed last week that Southampton talks with Everton were ‘ongoing’ for Dibling after a second bid worth £43m, with £8m of that inclusive of add-ons had been rejected.
Ahead of the Wrexham clash, Dibling was training on his own at Southampton away from the rest of the main squad.
Dibling has continued to train away from the Southampton squad and was not present in Still’s squad to face Northampton after his absence against the Red Dragons.
Now, reports have emerged that Southampton have made a “counter-offer” to Everton that could “trigger the deal”.
Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg revealed on X: “Southampton have made a counter-offer to Everton regarding Tyler #Dibling.

“Southampton’s valuation has always been set at €55–65 million (£47.4m-£56m). The counter-offer is likely to be slightly lower.”
With Dibling’s absence from the Saints squad, and Still’s recent comments regarding the youngster, his move to Everton seems likely before the summer transfer window slams shut on September 1.

Will Still reveals whether he will play Tyler Dibling amid Everton links
Dibling’s Southampton teammate Mateus Fernandes is wanted by West Ham, with the Hammers submitting a £30m bid, which was rejected just hours before the Portuguese international scored the winner against Northampton.
After the cup win, Still revealed his thoughts on reintegrating Dibling into the Southampton squad despite his links with Everton ahead of Saturday’s Championship clash at Ipswich Town.
As quoted by the Liverpool Echo, Still said: “I think as long as he’s at the football club, he’ll be involved.
“I think we’ve shown it with Matty Fernandes, but we just need to make sure that he’s getting the right headspace and committed to what we’re doing.
“If that’s the case, over the next couple of days, if he wants to be a part of it and he wants to be involved, then he will be. But ultimately, it’s pretty much down to him.”
