West Ham have put in the groundwork to transform their attack this summer, but the club are not done yet.
Other teams would have welcomed Callum Wilson into the fold and called it a day. The former Newcastle forward is projected to provide West Ham with some relief up front.
However, the season is long, and Wilson arrives at the London Stadium with a turbulent injury record. As such, the Hammers will be keen to avoid any Wilson problems moving forward.
As a result, the London club are back in the market and have identified Dusan Vlahovic as a viable option.

Vlahovic rejects West Ham offer
West Ham take on Sunderland in their opening game of the Premier League season at the Stadium of Light on Saturday, 16 August. There is no doubt that the Hammers will want all tools at their disposal.

Vlahovic has been on the London club’s radar for a couple of years. However, a move to the London Stadium was not meant to be.
He has since been at a crossroads with Juventus after signing a four-year contract in 2022:
Vlahovic is no longer in the Italian club’s long-term plans, with the Old Lady desperate to secure Randal Kolo Muani on a permanent deal
The Serbian striker has been underwhelming since arriving at Turin, and his £10.3million net salary is weighing on the club
As a result, Juventus do not plan to offer him a new contract, which runs out in 2026
The Hammers are keen to exploit his current situation with his present club. As reported by Corriere dello Sport [via Tutto Mercato Web, 13 August], West Ham sent a proposal to the forward in the hope of convincing him to sign.
However, it is understood that Vlahovic is not even considering their proposal and plans to see out the rest of his contract with Juventus. This leaves the Hammers with no choice but to go back to the drawing board if they wish to strengthen their attack this summer.

In 145 appearances for Juventus, Vlahovic has scored 58 goals in all competitions.
While this is a decent amount, it may be a little thin for the Hammers, whose ambitions are colossal for the forthcoming season. Furthermore, his injury record is cause for concern.
The striker has suffered multiple injuries since signing for the Italian club. While most were small and fleeting, they were a regular occurrence. A game or two could be the difference in the Premier League.
There is no doubt that rejection stings, but West Ham may have dodged a bullet with this one.
