Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz could potentially have a dilemma on his hands after Everton signed Jack Grealish.

David Moyes will have Grealish at his disposal after the Toffees agreed a season-long loan deal which includes a £50million buy option.

Luiz has been a target at the Hill Dickinson Stadium in recent weeks, but it remains to be seen whether the midfielder will move to L5 before the end of August.

The Brazil international may now think twice about the prospect of moving to Bramley-Moore Dock as the Blues look to build their team around Grealish.

Grealish transfer to tempt Luiz to Everton

Luiz is open to joining Nottingham Forest this summer, with several Premier League teams apart from the Toffees interested in him, according to Tuttosport.

The news outlet reported on 1 August that The Tricky Trees are willing to offer the 27-year-old £3.4million plus bonuses annually at the City Ground, giving The Friedkin Group (TFG) a lot to think about.

It wouldn’t be surprising to see the Brazilian national signing for Nuno Espirito Santo’s team, who will play in the UEFA Europa League next season.

While the Blues have signed Grealish, Moyes will undoubtedly want more additions to his ranks as the Scottish manager looks for more depth in his squad.

Luiz was one of the best midfielders at Aston Villa.

Juventus signed the Brazil international for £44m last summer.

The 27-year-old has struggled in Turin.

The England international’s arrival could potentially turn Luiz’s head and may tempt him to prioritise a transfer to L5 as the Merseyside outfit look to achieve something special next season.

Joe Thomas writes in the Liverpool Echo on 13 August: “Earlier in the summer, the club was unable to tempt the likes of Liam Delap, Kenny Tete and Malick Fofana to become part of this Royal Blue regeneration.

“The signing of Grealish will wake many to the Blues’ newfound ambition — it’s a statement of intent and one that could spur targets who would otherwise be hesitant to come to Merseyside.”

Where will Grealish play for Moyes?

Moyes was pushing for Grealish at Everton, and now it will be interesting to see how he uses the versatile attacker next season.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has featured in the number 10 position for the Toffees during pre-season, but that position will now surely be reserved for the Man City loanee.

While the 29-year-old heavily featured on the left wing under Pep Guardiola, his best football arguably came at Villa, where the Englishman was given more freedom in the final third.

TFG had come under fire from some fans due to the lack of transfer business this summer, but they’ve shown their ambition by signing Grealish and now may also be able to get someone like Luiz.
