Analyst Reveals Chris Boucher’s Fit With Celtics

The Boston Celtics have been one of the busiest teams in the league this offseason, unloading several big contracts in preparation for what could be a very troubled 2025-26 season.

One of the biggest moves they made was acquiring Chris Boucher, formerly of the Toronto Raptors.

Boucher could be a great pick-up for the Celtics, according to Gabriel Guzman.

Adam Taylor noted Guzman’s recent analysis of Boucher and said that the player could be a “catch-and-shoot floor spacer who can also pressure the rim off-ball, both as a cutter and rebounder.”

The Celtics didn’t sign Boucher because they envision him as the future of the team, but they do think he could be a big help for them.

He might not fill the void left by Jayson Tatum, but Boucher can clearly work well in a number of ways, especially when it comes to catch-and-shoot scoring.

He has been a vital bench player in Toronto for years, averaging 8.9 points and 5.1 rebounds during his seven seasons with the Raptors.

He was also a part of the team’s history and was the sole remaining member of their championship squad from 2018-19.

The Celtics have been trying to form a team that will be able to at least tread water without Tatum.

They know they have the odds stacked against them, but they hope that moves like the acquisition of Boucher will be enough to make them competitive in the East.

They will call upon all of their players to perform multiple tasks all over the court.

According to this analysis, Boucher will be able to deliver.
