'He has the highest...' What Man Utd insiders said about Ruben Amorim’s remarkable star shows one thing no other player …

Bruno Fernandes’ elite mentality has been perfectly summed up after what Manchester United insiders were reportedly saying about Ruben Amorim’s talisman at Old Trafford.

The 30-year-old Manchester United star has remained as club skipper under Ruben Amorim after he received the Red Devils captaincy under Erik ten Hag in 2023.

United manager Amorim has witnessed first-hand the importance of Bruno Fernandes’ presence at Old Trafford after the coach’s arrival from Sporting CP.

Fernandes was influential as ever for United during the 2024-25 Premier League campaign and the Red Devils midfielder was the standout performer for Amorim.

The Portugal international netted an impressive 19 times and registered 19 assists in 57 appearances across all competitions for the Premier League club last season.

Al Hilal were linked with United star Fernandes in recent months and the Saudi Pro League outfit were ready to entice the midfielder with a lucrative transfer package.

But Fernandes rejected a move to Al Hilal ahead of the 2025-26 Premier League campaign and the Portugal international remained at the club under Ruben Amorim.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Fernandes is part of a core leadership team that is now emerging in the United dressing room during the Amorim era.

He is one of the three ‘senior leaders’ alongside Harry Maguire and Tom Heaton, while Diogo Dalot, Lisandro Martinez and Noussair Mazraoui are ‘new members.’

The MEN revealed that a ‘Carrington source’ was blown away by Fernandes’ remarkable track record of playing first-team football and not suffering injuries.

“He has the highest pain threshold I have ever encountered,” a United insider told the newspaper.

Transfermarkt says that Fernandes missed one match for United in the 2021-22 season due to illness and a knee injury sidelined him for two fixtures in the 2023-24 campaign.

When it comes to his international playing career, Fernandes was absent for Portugal for two matches over the course of the 2018-19 season due to a leg injury.

Since his arrival from Sporting CP, the United ace has played 290 times for the Red Devils and Fernandes has netted 98 times and registered 86 assists for his side.
