Before practice began for the Cleveland Browns on Wednesday, head coach Kevin Stefanski announced that quarterback Shedeur Sanders will be making his second straight preseason start against the Philadelphia Eagles. Sanders started last Friday night against the Carolina Panthers.

He is still listed for now fourth on the Browns quarterback depth chart. With that being said, there was some bad news for Sanders out of camp on Wednesday and NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported,
“#Browns QB Shedeur Sanders injured his oblique in practice today, early on, and will be evaluated. That may take him out of the next preseason game — the latest in a string of Cleveland nagging QB injuries.”
Dillon Gabriel and Kenny Pickett have already been ruled out for the preseason game against the Eagles with injuries. If Sanders were to miss this game for the Browns, Joe Flacco and Tyler Huntley maybe getting the majority of the game reps.

This was an interesting development out of Browns camp on Wednesday with Sanders getting injured. With that being said, there were some interesting comments on Twitter:
They’ll need to sign a sixth QB if this is the case

Good thing Cleveland has like 18 quarterbacks

Unfortunate for this guy. I am kinda rooting for him, especially with Deion having health issues.

That oblique injury better be minor… or it’s back to QB roulette in Cleveland.

It was fun while it lasted.. Cleveland cant ever have nice things they’re cursed.

If Sanders does not play on Saturday, it could throw a total wrench into the Browns quarterback competition plans. There seems to be a lot of issues with injuries at the position for Cleveland at the moment. With Sanders being injured for Cleveland, they may need to sign another quarterback to the roster before the next preseason games against the Eagles as well.
