"Zero respect"- Donnarumma agent slams PSG as'clear favourites'emerge for goalkeeper

Gianluigi Donnarumma's agent has said that Paris Saint-Germain have shown "zero respect" to his client, who is set to leave the French and European champions after four years at the club.

The 26-year-old was in outstanding form for PSG last season, helping the capital giants to win a Ligue 1 and Champions League double, but he has been told to leave this summer.

Indeed, Donnarumma's contract in Paris is due to expire next summer, and Luis Enrique side have brought in a new number one goalkeeper in the shape of Lucas Chevalier.

In an emotional statement, Donnarumma said that "someone has decided that I can no longer be part of the group", with the Italian therefore seeking pastures new.

The goalkeeper's agent has now reacted to the situation, and he has taken aim at PSG, claiming that the club have "shocked" him by showing "zero respect" for his client.

Donnarumma agent "shocked" by PSG decision

"We will consider solutions now, maybe in Premier League there will be clubs able to pay what’s needed. Paris Saint-Germain are asking for big money. They talk about respect, but it’s only about the money," Raiola told reporters.

“We are shocked by PSG. There’s zero respect by the club after four years together. We will consider the situation also with our legal team. Gigio was even ready to reduce his salary but PSG changed the conditions again."

PSG head coach Enrique has revealed that he wants a different type of goalkeeper between the sticks, with Chevalier now set to be the undisputed number one in Paris.

"Donnarumma is one of the best goalkeepers in the world, no doubt, and even better as a person," Enrique said.

"But this is the life of high-level footballers. I am 100% responsible for this difficult decision. If it were easy, anyone would do it; these decisions have to do with the profile of the goalkeeper that my team needs."

Manchester City have already brought in a new goalkeeper this summer, re-signing James Trafford from Burnley, while Ederson is still at the Etihad Stadium despite a host of speculation.

However, Galatasaray are believed to be pushing to sign Ederson, which would open the door for Man City to make an approach for Donnarumma, who is said to be valued by PSG at £43m.

Chelsea and Manchester United have also been linked with Donnarumma in recent weeks, but it is understood that neither club are planning a move for the Italian at this stage of proceedings.
