NBA mailbag: Call for Warriors questions

The remarkably calm offseason of the Golden State Warriors continues. It’s now been a month and a half since the start of NBA free agency, and the only thing that has happened to the Dubs is that they’ve seen Kevon Looney sign with the New Orleans Pelicans. That’s it. That’s really and truly it.

Jonathan Kuminga remains in limbo, though it certainly looks like he’ll be returning, albeit possibly on the qualifying offer. Al Horford is still expected to sign with the Dubs when the Kuminga situation is resolved. De’Anthony Melton is likely to join that group as well. And the fact that everything has been quiet with Gary Payton II suggests he, too, is waiting for the clouds to clear before re-upping with the Warriors.

Meanwhile, the Golden State Valkyries have slipped a bit, in large part due to a season-ending injury suffered by All-Star Kayla Thornton. But they remain a thrilling team that is deep in a fight for the WNBA playoffs — a remarkable accomplishment in their debut season.

So little is happening, yet there’s so much to talk about for fans of Bay Area hoops. So it seemed like another perfect time to roll out a mailbag. I’m on vacation for a few days, but I’ll be back on Friday to answer all your questions about the Warriors, the Valkyries, Kuminga, the NBA at large, and anything else you want to talk about.

Drop some questions in the comment section and check back on Friday!
