Aston Villa have until the deadline on Monday 1st September to complete any transfer dealings
Aston Villa have the chance to sign some more players before the end of the window. They also have the opportunity to sell some individuals to clear up funds. The transfer market shuts on Monday 1st September at a slightly earlier time of 7pm.
The Midlands outfit missed out on the Champions League last season. They finished outside the top five on the final day after losing to Manchester United at Old Trafford. Therefore, Unai Emery’s side will now have to contend with life in the Europa League.
Aston Villa ace Youri Tielemans eyed
According to CaughtOffside, Fenerbahce and Al Ittihad are interested in Aston Villa midfielder Youri Tielemans. The report suggests they may need to sell over the coming weeks to deal with PSR ‘pressure’. Letting players go would help free up space and money to boost their financial situation.
Tielemans, 28, is under contract at Villa Park until 2028 but his long-term future may well be up in the air now. He joined his current club back in 2023 and has since been a key player. The Belgium international, who has 77 caps under his belt, has made 99 appearances in all competitions and has chipped in with eight goals, five of which came in the last campaign.
After joining Aston Villa two years ago, he said at the time: “When I had a few chats with the manager, his ambition, his passion and the way he led the team impressed me and made me decide to come to Aston Villa. It’s a big club. I’m really excited.
“It’s a new challenge for me after four-and-a-half years at Leicester. It’s been a good time but now is the time to move on for myself and my family. Now I’m at Aston Villa, I’m really looking forward to it. I can’t wait to get started.”
He added: “Playing in Europe is always a great achievement, and the way the manager led the team back to Europe is an amazing achievement. We have to be ready for it. European cup competitions are always special. They will hopefully be some good nights.”
Aston Villa update emerges regarding Jacob Ramsey
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Aston Villa’s Jacob Ramsey is ‘closing’ in on a move to Newcastle United. He is poised to leave for a new challenge in the North West. Eddie Howe’s side will be able to offer him the chance to play in the Championship.
Reporter Romano has posted on X: “Understand Newcastle are closing in on Jacob Ramsey deal with Aston Villa! Agreement almost done for £40m package as clubs are finalising the deal and then… here we go. Despite West Ham approach, Ramsey only wants Newcastle as #NUFC move is now imminent.”
Ramsey, 24, has been with Villa for his whole career to date and rose up through their academy ranks. He was a regular at various different youth levels before he was loaned out to Doncaster Rovers. The Birmingham-born man has since become an important asset and has played 167 games, finding the net on 17 occasions.
