Pundit Simon Jordan has ripped into Michail Antonio for his swipe at West Ham with Hammers fans still waiting for a farewell message from their long-serving striker.
There is a sour taste being left in the mouth following Michail Antonio’s departure from West Ham after 10 memorable years.
It has now been almost one full week since West Ham officially announced Antonio’s departure.
Yet the 35-year-old striker is yet to send a parting message to the club’s fans after a decade playing in the claret and blue.
Players who have served the club over long spells almost always send a goodbye message via the club’s website, a video or social media.
Wait goes on for Antonio’s farewell message to West Ham
At the time of writing, one week after his exit was officially confirmed – and even longer since Graham Potter confirmed it himself days before – there has been nothing of the sort from Antonio.
It comes after he snubbed the offer of a short-term pay-as-you-play deal to remain in east London for another year.
West Ham went out and signed Antonio’s friend – the ageing, injury-prone Callum Wilson – as his replacement and handed him the Jamaican’s number nine shirt on the same day his departure was confirmed.
MORE WEST HAM STORIES
Whether that, or the fact West Ham would not give him a new deal after his horror car smash, has Antonio in a sulk remains to be seen.
Perhaps the forward is gathering his thoughts and emotions to find the right words to say goodbye to West Ham.

However, he has had some words for the club’s owners – headed up by David Sullivan. And harsh ones at that.
Michail Antonio aimed a brutal parting shot at West Ham when asserting that Aleksander Isak is right to push to leave Newcastle for Liverpool.
The striker broke his silence on his Hammers exit this week and suggested the club showed him little loyalty.
The fan favourite also states that the way his West Ham exit panned out proves everything comes down to money in the modern game, saying his departure shows clubs treat players like ‘meat’.
Antonio had already been making moves towards a punditry career post football.
Jordan savages Antonio for West Ham dig
While he has vowed to continue playing – and states he has plenty of offers – Antonio took another step in that direction by joining the TNT Sports football punditry team for the new season.
One man who is a leading voice in that area of the industry is talkSPORT’s Simon Jordan.
The pundit seldom minces his words and often uses them to scold his old adversary Sullivan, West Ham’s majority owner.
Jordan makes no secret of his disdain for Sullivan.
So the fact he has now defended the Hammers chief against Antonio speaks volumes.

Jordan questions ‘narcissist’ Antonio’s true loyalty
It comes as Jordan savages Antonio for his dig at West Ham as the wait goes on for his farewell message.
In typical fashion, Jordan pulls no punches telling Antonio he had a good run at West Ham and reminded the striker the club was not to blame for his car crash.
Jordan also says he knows Antonio tried to engineer moves away from the Hammers in the past, asking where his loyalty was on those occasions.
“Michail Antonio’s assertion (about Isak) illustrates a certain thinking,” Jordan said on talkSPORT, which you can watch in full below.
“I think he thinks that perhaps he wasn’t given a new contract by West Ham and he’s equating it to that.
😡 "A ridiculous, self-indulgent, narcissistic load of old claptrap!"
😬 "There were times where he wanted to leave #WHUFC, where was his loyalty then!?"

“I think in this day and age where players are turned into multi-millionaires overnight, they’re afford the kind of luxuries and courtesies and support around them that’s never been seen before, I think it’s (Antonio’s comments) a ridiculous statement to make.
“I think it’s a ridiculous, self-indulgent, narcissistic load of old claptrap.
“Players are obliged to be fit for purpose and if they’re not fit for purpose clubs might take a slightly different attitude towards them. If a player is doing his job and doing it brilliantly, very rarely does a club have a difficulty with them.
‘West Ham didn’t crash Antonio’s car, he did’
“When Michail Antonio comes out and trots out that load of old rubbish, it tells me what kind of person he is and I’m disappointed by it because I think he’s better than that.
“He had a very good run at West Ham, there were times I understood where he wanted to leave West Ham because there were certain circumstances in his life where he needed more money and he was trying to engineer moves out of the door. Where was his loyalty then?
“The fact West Ham came back around and gave him what he needed again to be able to supplement the finances he needed in his private life is a different dynamic.
“I would imagine – and it is an assumption on my part here – it is based around the fact that he didn’t get a new contract at West Ham.
“Well West Ham didn’t crash his car, he did.”
