CHERRIES have drawn a Premier League opponent in the second round of the Carabao Cup, with Andoni Iraola’s side set to face Brentford.

AFC Bournemouth will host The Bees in a top-flight second round matchup.

The game will take place at Vitality stadium in the week commencing August 25.

Top-flight clubs competing in Europe receive a bye through to the third round, leaving Bournemouth as one of best ranked clubs in round two.

AFC Bournemouth finished ninth in the Premier League last season, the second highest ranked team to not receive a bye into the third round.

The [Cherries](http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sport/cherries/clubnews/) were knocked out in the second round last season, in a 1-0 defeat to West Ham after a late Jarrod Bowen goal.
