Chelsea and Man United in£20M Dispute Over Garnacho Transfer

Manchester United and Chelsea are some way apart on their valuations for Alejandro Garnacho, with the Blues willing to offer around £30–35 million but United demanding in the region of £50m. Willian’s determination to move to Stamford Bridge has only served in a disagreement over the last few weeks of the window.

Chelsea Bargain Push

Chelsea view Garnacho as a central figure in their future restructuring under Enzo Maresca. The 21-year-old has completed his personal terms with the Blues and claimed that he will not look at any other possibility. Sources say he is even prepared to sit out the season if a move does not materialise.

The West London side remain determined not to overpay, sticking to their £30–35 million valuation despite suggestions they might eventually get him for less. Chelsea discussed swap proposals involving players such as Christopher Nkunku, Nicolas Jackson, Axel Disasi, and Renato Veiga internally, but United quickly dismissed them. Chelsea’s recruitment team see Garnacho’s pace, direct dribbling, and age as ideal traits for their attacking overhaul.

United’s Firm Stand

Manchester United are holding firm at around £50 million and want the fee paid in full. The hierarchy at the club feel that Garnacho has a sell-on value and first-team potential to warrant their fee, with no willingness to use him as part of an exchange deal.

Manager Ruben Amorim is reluctant to lose one of his brightest young talents but is aware of the player’s stance. Profit and Sustainability constraints could influence United’s position after they spent heavily this summer, though no formal softening has occurred.

With less than three weeks left in the transfer window, talks are ongoing but the valuation gap remains wide. Garnacho’s future now hinges on whether United lower their demands or Chelsea decide to push beyond their current limit.
