Liverpool have somehow managed to make their team even more dangerous than it was last season.
The Reds stormed away with the Premier League title last year, and now that players such as Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike have been brought in, it feels like they’re close to unstoppable.
Indeed, there are still a couple of areas that need strengthening this summer, but with the amount of talent they have in their reserves, they could easily find a way to fund a couple of new arrivals.

And, even though players such as Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez have been sold on this summer, it feels like there’s one player in particular who could step up to the plate and potentially save Liverpool millions this season.
Arne Slot should give Ben Doak a chance to prove his worth
One of the most in-demand players from Liverpool’s first-team squad at the start of the season was Ben Doak.
The attacker had an impressive campaign in the Championship during the 2024-25 season, and clubs such as Everton and Crystal Palace were showing an interest in the attacker.
However, as we’re now entering the latter end of the transfer window, the Scotsman still hasn’t been sold.
As mentioned, others such as Diaz and Nunez have already been moved on, leaving only Mohamed Salah, Doak, Cody Gakpo and Federico Chiesa as Arne Slot’s options on the wing.

Of course, Rio Ngumoha is also a potential option across the season, but since he’s just 16 years old, he can’t be relied upon to be a regular backup for the first team.

Ben Doak would be a solid option for Arne Slot to turn towards this season
As mentioned, at the start of the summer transfer window, clubs were lining up to try and prise Doak away from Anfield.
And, although the interest in the attacker has died down over the last few weeks, that doesn’t mean he’s not an impressive player.
In the Championship last season, he contributed to 10 goals in 24 games, and since he’s only 19 years old, there’s still plenty of room for him to grow.
He’s also lightning quick, which means that he can break past almost every defender he faces, and, since he’s still young, he likely wouldn’t mind being a backup for a year or so.
Of course, these are all just ifs, buts and maybes at the moment, but on the face of things, if Liverpool are wanting to sign other players such as Marc Guehi, Giovanni Leoni and Alexander Isak this summer, it could be worth giving Doak a chance until they can recoup some of the money they’ve spent.
And the fact that Jurgen Klopp dubbed the youngster a “special” talent shows how highly the German thought of him during his time in charge of the club, adding yet another reason to the list of why he should be given a chance to prove his worth.
