BBC journalist: Everton now eyeing 'sensational' English winger as Dibling deal stalls

Everton are now exploring a move to sign Ipswich Town winger Omari Hutchinson, with a deal for Southampton's Tyler Dibling yet to advance, according to BBC reporter Giulia Bould.

The Toffees are in the market to sign a new winger in the summer transfer window, despite the recent arrival of Jack Grealish on loan from Manchester City. David Moyes is currently without a right-sided attacker in his squad, leaving them short of options heading towards the opening weekend of Premier League fixtures.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Adam Aznou, Thierno Barry, and Mark Travers have also been brought to the club in the summer transfer window, while Carlos Alcaraz's loan deal was made permanent. Despite the recent additions, Moyes is still dealing with a relatively small squad, with the Toffees losing a host of players in the last few months.

Omari Hutchinson in action for Ipswich Town

Speaking on BBC Merseyside Sport, Bould has confirmed that Everton are now looking at Ipswich winger Hutchinson. The Toffees could come back to the table for Southampton's Dibling, but they would need the player to indicate that he really wants to go, and the Saints to lower their asking price...

“If the player indicates he really wants to go, & Southampton are willing to lower their price, Everton would come back to the table. They are now looking at Ipswich’s Omari Hutchinson.”

Hutchinson, described as 'sensational' by scout Felix Johnston, was recently relegated with Ipswich. It will be interesting to see whether the England youth international is happy to remain in the Championship with Kieran McKenna's side, or whether he's seeking a move back to the Premier League this summer.

Interestingly, Hutchinson hasn't been involved for Ipswich in the opening weeks of the campaign. The young winger has failed to make the squad in their previous two matches, in the Championship and in the Carabao Cup earlier this week.
