Real Betis star comments on how the players feel about Antony as transfer saga continues,'it's not just me...'

Antony remains a popular figure at Real Betis.

After spending the second half of last season on loan at Real Betis, Antony managed to rejuvenate his career to the point he now wants to return to the La Liga club.

The problem with that is Real Betis are unlikely to afford Manchester United’s asking price for the Brazil international. That is why they would prefer to sign Antony on loan again.

At Old Trafford, there is a demand to sell players, especially if United are planning to make more moves in the summer transfer window.

Antony is one of the players Ineos are trying to sell before deadline day and it could help the club finance a deal for Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba.

A deal for the Cameroon prospect would be even more difficult if United are unable to sell Antony, Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia.

Real Betis star drops Antony transfer hint

Real Betis are still trying to sign United ace Antony for a second time.

In the latest development, Betis centre-back Natan has claimed the winger is “waiting” to seal a return to the Spanish club.

Antony scored nine goals and registered five assists in 26 games for Betis last season. He made a strong enough impression that their current players are speaking about the prospect of an immediate reunion.

“Hopefully he can come back and be with us for another year or two,” Natan told El Chiringuito, as quoted by the Manchester Evening News.

“Yes, he’s waiting and we’re all waiting.

“I think it’s not just me, all the Betis. I hope he comes. Let’s hope, I have hope.”

United will hope a deal for Antony materialises sooner rather than later.

Time running out for Antony

Betis have struggled to strike a deal for Antony all summer.

It’s time for Antony and his agent to seek suitors elsewhere, or else they run the risk of a wasted year when there will be a World Cup held in the United States.

The transfer window shuts at the end of the month.

Antony has until then to find a new club.
