Man Utd faced Tamworth in the National League cup on Wednesday night.

Manchester United U21s clash with Tamworth in the National League Cup was abandoned on Wednesday night following a serious head injury to midfielder Sekou Kone.

The 19-year-old fell to the ground late in the first half after a collision with a Tamworth player and tried to continue playing before he eventually fell back down onto the pitch. Kone received medical treatment for a lengthy period before he was eventually stretchered off the pitch while wearing a mask over his face.

Kone received further treatment in an ambulance before he was taken to the hospital, which caused the match to be abandoned due to the fact that a replacement ambulance would have been required to ensure the fixture could continue.
