Philadelphia 76ers legend Allen Iverson revealed some exciting news earlier this week, announcing that his book tour is set to begin in October.
Iverson’s book, Misunderstood, is set to be released on Oct. 7, 2025. The book tour includes stops in New York City, New Jersey, Washington, D.C. and New Orleans.
“I’m excited to announce that my book tour kicks off this October! I can’t wait to share my memoir with you,” Allen Iverson posted on his Instagram page.
Iverson will be at the Barnes & Noble on Fifth Ave. in New York City on Oct. 7 at 5 p.m. He will then be at Bookends in New Jersey on Oct. 8 at 6 p.m., before heading to Mahogany Books in Washington, D.C. on Oct. 9 at 5 p.m. All three of those stops will include a chance to purchase a signed book, as well as a photo opportunity.
The final stop on the book tour that has been announced thus far is Oct. 10 in New Orleans. Iverson will be at Baldwin & Company bookstore at 6 p.m. CT for a talk, book signing and photo opportunity.
As of Wednesday morning, the New York City book tour stop is sold out. Tickets for New Jersey, Washington, D.C. and New Orleans are still available for purchase here.
On the website for the book, Misunderstood is described as: ”A compelling and candid memoir from Allen Iverson, the NBA’s most misunderstood Hall of Famer, detailing his tough childhood in Virginia, his entry into the league as the number one overall pick, and his controversial, culture-changing pro basketball career.
“In Misunderstood, Allen Iverson shares in searing clarity and touching candor his meteoric rise from impoverished child in the Virginia projects to high school champion to Georgetown University protégé of legendary coach John Thompson, and finally to NBA All-Star and Reebok’s Vice President of Basketball."
Allen Iverson was drafted by the 76ers with the No. 1 overall pick in the 1996 NBA Draft. He went on to win the 2001 NBA MVP and was named an NBA All-Star 11 times.
Iverson also was named the MVP of the All-Star game twice. He was the NBA scoring champion four times in his career and is in the Basketball Hall of Fame.
Iverson was flashy on and off the court during his career, which included stops with the Denver Nuggets, Detroit Pistons and Memphis Grizzlies, in addition to his time with the 76ers.
