Arsenal defender wanted by Crystal Palace this summer
Crystal Palace eyeing Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior
Crystal Palace are considering signing Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior this summer, reports Football Transfers. The South London club are looking to strengthen their defence, especially as Marc Guehi’s future is in doubt. Guehi’s contract expires next year, and the club fear he may leave the team. That is why Palace are looking for a reliable centre-back.
Jakub Kiwior’s name has come up on this list. The 25-year-old Polish defender is not getting many opportunities at the Emirates, which has made him consider a transfer. According to the same report, he has offers from several clubs, and Palace are one of them. Kiwior’s position at Arsenal is flexible; he can play at centre-back as well as left-back, which could benefit Crystal Palace in squad depth. It remains to be seen if the deal goes ahead in the summer.
Kiwior had conceded 13 goals and kept 4 clean sheets in 17 matches in the Premier League 2024/2025 season. That means when Kiwior was on the pitch, his team conceded a goal every 86 minutes. Moreover, he had made 1.67 tackles and 0.53 interceptions for every 90 minutes he was on the pitch. The Pole also racked up about 4.30 clearances at the same time, and even scored a goal (stats by FootyStats).
Will a move to the Palace be the right move for Kiwior?
Kiwior could be a great signing for Crystal Palace. He would bring both experience and versatility to their defence. However, the question is whether Kiwior would leave European football and come to Palace.
Playing with Arsenal in the Premier League and competing in European tournaments is on a different level. Palace cannot offer that level at the moment. If the defender’s primary goal is to play more, then this move would be beneficial, but if he wants to stay on the high-level European stage, then this move would not be right for him.
