The Kansas City Chiefs aren’t used to being in this position.
For the past couple of years, they entered the offseason as the undisputed team to beat and the defending champions.
Now, they’re back to square one like everybody else.
However, that might be a blessing in disguise.
When asked what he learned about his team during the offseason, Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes gushed about the players’ mindset:
“I knew this already, but you know how hungry these guys are. Guys are ready to compete and prove who we are. We’ve got a lot of young guys combined with the veteran leadership that we have,” Mahomes said, per Charles Goldman.

The Chiefs are now aiming for the crown again.
This isn’t the first time that they’ve had to bounce back from a tough Super Bowl loss, and the last time that happened, they won two of the next three rings.
Of course, it won’t be easy, and that heartbreaking loss to the Philadelphia Eagles proved that they need to make plenty of adjustments to get back at Nick Sirianni and company.
Still, we’re talking about a team featuring the greatest offensive playcaller of all time, one of the best quarterbacks in the game, and a Super Bowl-caliber defense.
The Chiefs have heard all the noise, and they’ve kept receipts.
The players are hungry to prove that we still haven’t seen the best or the last of them, and now that they’re mostly healthy, this team should continue to be a force to be reckoned with.
Going against Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes has rarely paid off, and now that everybody else has poked the bear, they’re the last two people you want to see with a chip on their shoulders.
