Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has received a telling 2025-26 season prediction over the Red Devils challenging for a place in the Champions League.
The Red Devils missed out on the opportunity to sneak back into the Champions League last season after Manchester United reached the Europa League final.
United and Tottenham met in the 2025 final in Bilbao and both Premier League sides were handed the chance of securing European football for the forthcoming season.
Spurs came out on top against United in May and Tottenham punched their ticket back to the Champions League after a 1-0 win over the Red Devils in Spain.
United’s costly 2025 Europa League final defeat ensured that Ruben Amorim’s men would be without any kind of European football for the upcoming 2025-26 campaign.

Manchester United’s only hope of securing a return to the Champions League in 2026 is entirely dependent on their 2025-26 Premier League campaign.

The Red Devils collapsed during the 2024-25 Premier League campaign and United manager Ruben Amorim could only ensure that his side finished 15th last season.
Opta Analyst used a supercomputer’s simulation and ran its results a whopping 10,000 times on every match for all 20 Premier League clubs in the new season.
Based on the data collected, the supercomputer model found that United’s chances of finishing in the top four of the Premier League are bleak based on its estimates.
According to Opta Analyst, United only have an average chance of 6.7 per cent in ensuring that the Red Devils compete in UEFA’s top-tier club competition in 2026.

Opta’s model painted a disappointing picture for United fans with its top-four predictions, with the Red Devils finishing 12th in the supercomputer’s results.
But Opta Analyst did reveal one hidden detail behind the methodology of the 2025-26 Premier League being simulated 10,000 times for the supercomputer’s results.
It has been explained that the supercomputer’s model ‘numbers’ are ‘obviously largely’ based upon the ‘underperformance’ of United’s campaign ‘last time around.’
Tottenham, much like United, received only a 5.7 per cent chance of reaching the Champions League in the 2026/27 season due to the data that is being used.
United will begin their new Premier League campaign at Old Trafford and the Red Devils will host rivals Arsenal on the opening weekend of the new season.
