Yoane Wissa
Newcastle United could be about to reach a breakthrough for Brentford's Yoane Wissa
Newcastle United are just a few days away from their Premier League opener against Aston Villa and continue to be linked with potential transfer targets.
The club are hopeful of agreeing a deal with the Villans for midfielder Jacob Ramsey and will be keen to add the England youth international to their squad ahead of that trip to Villa Park.
The Magpies are still looking for a breakthrough in trying to sign a forward for the upcoming campaign, but could be about to land a long-term target.

Odysseas Vlachodimos breaks silence
Outgoing goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos says he didn't think twice about making his move to La Liga side Sevilla after getting just 45 minutes under his belt since signing for Newcastle.
"For me, the truth is that as soon as I had the opportunity to come to Sevilla, I didn’t think twice," Estadio Deportivo report the player as saying.
"I’m really hungry and eager, and the decision on who starts will be up to the coach. I’m happy to be here. It’s been very easy to join the team. I have fantastic teammates. They’ve welcomed me phenomenally from the very first second.
"The hardest part will be remembering all the names. From the moment I heard they wanted me; I had no doubts.
"LaLiga is fantastic for continuing to grow as a player, and the other part is that Sevilla has seen how good it is. Winning trophies, that’s what I want. Winning trophies again."
Chronicle Live says: "Newcastle needed to trim their goalkeeping department this summer and will be hoping the Greek international impresses in order to generate transfer interest ahead of a permanent move next summer."
Yoane Wissa domino effect
AfricaFoot claims Newcastle United and Brentford are close to an agreement for forward Yoane Wissa and say a deal could be done by the end of the week. Despite interest from Nottingham Forest and Saudi Arabian side Neom, the 28-year-old is said to favour a move St. James' Park.
Keith Andrew's side are in talks with Arnaud Kalimuendo and are expected to make an offer for Bournemouth winger Dango Ouattara. Ben Jacobs claims the Cherries are in 'advanced talks' to sign Bayer Leverkusen forward Amine Adil, which coudl trigger Ouattara's move to the Bees.
If Brentford are able to reach a swift breakthrough, Newcastle might finally be able to strike an agreement of their own.
Chronicle Live says: "It's taken some time, but Brentford finally look to be making moves in bringing in attacking reinforcements, which should allow Wissa to move to St. James' Park."
