Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite is currently ruled out with a hamstring injury and is set for a spell on the sidelines.

Branthwaite is now expected to miss the start of the new Premier League season, suffering a setback before the campaign is set to begin.

The England international missed Everton’s pre-season as well and will now be out for longer.

Branthwaite could be ruled out for up to six weeks

Dr Rajpal Brar expects the 23-year-old to now be ruled out of action for up to six weeks.

The injury expert believes that this is a Grade 2 hamstring tear and it could be a re-injury, as Branthwaite has suffered hamstring issues previously as well.

He also fears that the centre-back could be plagued with this issue for the rest of the season, as re-injury rates are high.

Dr Brar told Goodison News: “This sounds like a reinjury and potentially a Grade 2 hamstring tear.

“It seems that he may be out for around six weeks.

“The key concern for Branthwaite is this plaguing him the rest of the season, as hamstring re-injury rates are high and it can be difficult to get out of those cycles during the season.”

Everton will surely be worried about Branthwaite’s injury issues

Everton have significant cause for concern regarding Branthwaite’s recurring injuries, as they threaten the team’s defensive stability and his long-term development.

The 23-year-old centre-back, pivotal for the Toffees, has been plagued by a groin surgery, pelvic issue, and thigh injury in the past, missing key matches and England senior team opportunities.

Likely games Branthwaite might miss.

His absence has led to a leaky defence and David Moyes will surely be fearing the worst.

With the Merseyside outfit facing a tough fixture list, the England international’s injury proneness risks derailing their season.

Careful management is critical to avoid further setbacks.
