Galatasaray are now using a tactic that has already worked this summer to sign Ederson from Man …

The future of Ederson at Manchester City remains up in the air.

The Brazilian has entered the final year of his contract at the Etihad Stadium, and as a result, there have been mixed updates on his future in the build-up to the 2025/26 season.

Galatasaray have been keen on Ederson all summer, having already submitted an offer for the Brazilian, but the noise out of the Premier League club was that the Man City legend was staying.

That stance seems to have changed once more as Galatasaray continue to push for the 31-year-old and are now doing everything to make sure the deal gets over the line before the summer transfer window shuts.

Galatasaray completed the biggest deal in the Turkish club’s history this summer by securing the signing of Victor Osimhen from Napoli as part of a €75m (£65m) deal, which smashed the previous €25m record held in Turkey.

According to Alfredo Pedulla, the Super Lig champions are now using the same intermediary who helped get the Osimhen deal over the line to sign Ederson from Man City, with Okan Buruk keen to have the Brazilian join his squad.

Galatasaray are also willing to exceed the £8.5m (€10m) barrier to sign the goalkeeper after another call over the transfer took place on Wednesday night.

There is still some way to go before the transfer is complete, as nothing has been agreed between the clubs, although Galatasaray have an agreement with Ederson on personal terms.

This is a transfer Man City will want to get sorted very soon, as they do not have a lot of time to find a replacement if the Brazilian leaves, with Gianluigi Donnarumma being Guardiola’s top target.

Biggest signings in Turkish football history

Osimhen’s €75m transfer to Galatasaray stands head and shoulders above the rest of the biggest signings ever made in the history of Turkish football, with Orkun Kökçü’s €25m move to Besiktas second on the list.

If Ederson were to move to Turkey as part of a €10m deal, that would see the Brazilian’s transfer enter the top 20 on the list, with a host of stars already moving to Turkish clubs for the same fee.

Man City will hope to secure more than this to part ways with the goalkeeper, but with only one year left on his current deal, the Manchester club cannot be too greedy.
