Kyrie Irving considers Kevin Durant his best teammate because of KD's exceptional talent and the unmatched experience of sharing the court with him.
Kyrie Irving has shared the court with some of the NBA's biggest stars, including LeBron James and Luka Doncic—but neither tops his list of best teammates. For Irving, that honor goes to Kevin Durant, with whom he teamed up on the Brooklyn Nets.

"I will say this: the 7-Eleven duo of me and KD will never be topped in terms of just being on a court with somebody that special, right? So let me get that disclaimer out," Irving said during his live stream. "I've played with a lot of great players, but playing with KD, it was OD. All right, he's one of the best of all time. Obviously, we all have our strengths and weaknesses."
Irving and Durant played together in Brooklyn from 2019 to 2023. However, their time together fell short of expectations.
Injuries, controversies, and team issues plagued the Durant-Irving-Harden era, making it one of the NBA's most disappointing chapters.
Before Brooklyn, Irving played alongside LeBron James in Cleveland, winning a championship together in 2016.
More recently, he teamed up with Luka Doncic to lead the Dallas Mavericks to the NBA Finals in 2024, the franchise's first Finals appearance since 2011.
