Giovanni Leoni will undergo a medical with Liverpool on Thursday after the Reds reached an agreement to sign the Parma defender.
Liverpool have agreed a fee of around €35m (£30.1) for the 18-year-old as Arne Slot looks to bolster his side’s defensive options. The transfer will include a sell-on clause for Parma, with the formalities of the deal set to be completed this week.

The Premier League champions have moved for Leoni, who is considered one of the most promising defenders in Europe.
The 6ft 5in teenager enjoyed a breakthrough campaign with Parma in 2024/25, starting 14 times in Serie A for the Italian side.
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that a deal is ‘100% done’ with medical tests due today. Liverpool have sought to add to their centre-back options following the sale of Jarell Quansah to Bayer Leverkusen earlier in the window. Joe Gomez also departed the club’s pre-season tour due to injury, leaving Liverpool light at centre-back.
The Reds are also pursuing a deal to sign Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace before September’s deadline.
Guehi has less than 12 months to run on his deal at Selhurst Park and Palace chairman Steve Parish has conceded a sale is likely. Liverpool are hoping to reach an agreement on a fee in the region of £35m.
