Dominic Calvert-Lewin looks set to join Leeds United in the coming days.

The striker became a free agent this summer after failing to agree on a new contract with Everton.

With Calvert-Lewin now undergoing a medical at Leeds, the 28-year-old looks certain to become the Yorkshire club’s latest signing.

However, there are plenty of winners and losers of the transfer, including Joel Piroe.

Loser – Joel Piroe

After netting 19 Championship goals last season, Piroe would have hoped to remain as Leeds’ main man up top this campaign.

The striker has proved himself to be a clinical forward at Elland Road for the past two years, but may now find himself on the bench.

Given Calvert-Lewin’s experience, Daniel Farke will likely favour the former England international over the Dutchman.

The striker will no doubt feel hard done by if this happens. However, Piroe could easily end up being Leeds’ number 10 instead.

Daniel James

Winner – Daniel James

Another fantastic player last season was Daniel James.

The winger was central to Leeds’ creativity, with the Welsh international picking up nine assists.

Now, with the addition of Calvert-Lewin, James will no doubt be rubbing his hands together.

Daniel James stats from last season

Assists 9

Expected assists 8.66

Crosses 35

Chances created 44

James was a fantastic creative outlet as Leeds won promotion

The 27-year-old was a prominent crosser last season, and with the Englishman standing at six foot two inches, Calvert-Lewin should be able to hook onto many of these balls.

Therefore, James will hope that he is able to register even more assists this campaign.

Lukas Nmecha Leeds United

Loser – Lukas Nmecha

While Lukas Nmecha has only just joined Leeds United, he will already be fighting for a place in the first team.

The 26-year-old played in numerous games this season, but has also already featured on the bench.

With Calvert-Lewin coming in, Nmecha may find it even harder to get into the starting XI, especially as he is a natural winger.

The German’s only saving grace is that he can also play on the wings, which may give him more opportunities to play.
