Report: Newcastle chiefs come to agreement over Nicolas Jackson as Chelsea wait for him to leave this summer

Nicolas Jackson is beginning to run out of suitors in this summer transfer window, however one club continue to be mentioned as a potential landing spot.

Jackson has consistently been linked to Newcastle United over the last few weeks, after Eddie Howe’s side have missed out on a number of key attacking targets.

The Blues are not desperate to sell the striker this summer. It has been said Jackson will be reintegrated into the squad if he does not leave before the window slams shut.

However, Jackson wants to join Newcastle in order to get himself playing regular football again, after opportunities look set to be at a premium following the signings of Liam Delap and Joao Pedro.

Newcastle chiefs now convinced about signing Nicolas Jackson

Alexander Isak provides a serious hurdle to that, however his desire to leave could still see him make a move this summer, with Liverpool seriously interested.

It has been clear that the Senegal international has not been the first choice of the Magpies this summer, although it seems that they are coming round to the idea of him moving to St. James’ Park.

According to NewcastleWorld, chiefs at the club were originally undecided over signing Jackson, but he is now under serious consideration as one of their main targets for a new striker this summer.

The Blues in turn have begun to soften their stance on the price tag they would demand for him to part ways. They were originally holding out for a fee of around £80m to part ways.

Chelsea not looking to replace Jackson

Despite his departure meaning that they would be down to two recognisable first team strikers in the squad, there is no desperation to replace the potentially outgoing Jackson.

It has been reported previously that Chelsea are more likely to add a new option to their ranks next season. Emanuel Emegha has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge after excelling at fellow BlueCo club, Strasbourg.

There will also be eyes on the progress made by Marc Guiu during his loan at Sunderland, where he is expected to feature regularly.
