Fiorentina’s 19-year-old centre-back Eddy Kouadio has impressed during the club’s pre-season games in the past few weeks, making a mark against Nottingham Forest and Manchester United. The youngster is now attracting attention from Sunderland.
Today’s La Nazione, as relayed by LaViola, reports the teenager has earned the attention of many at Fiorentina and many members of the coaching staff are keeping a close eye on his progress.
Even if Kouadio is slowly breaking into the first-team at Fiorentina, his future is far from settled. Sunderland have been interested in the past and they continue to monitor his progress.
The report indicates that many other clubs are keeping an eye on the defender, whose current contract in Florence is expiring in the summer of 2027.
It was his first professional contract with the club and now, everything suggests that things are looking promising for Kouadio. The Florence newspaper believes the player can also end up replacing Pietro Comuzzo in the long term.
Sunderland would ideally not want to miss out on the rising talent but the next season can say more about the youngster’s abilities especially if he plays regular first-team football under Stefano Pioli.
