Brighton haven’t ‘flatly rejected’ idea of loan exit for player – Director key to move

On Tuesday, TuttoSport reported that Juventus view a move for Brighton’s Matt O’Riley as a response to Napoli’s success with Scott McTominay.

There was belief that the Dane can make a good impact in Serie A and can replicate the exploits of the ex-Manchester United midfielder, with the Seagulls looking to sell their player permanently.

Today’s Gazzetta dello Sport floats the idea of Juve signing O’Riley on a loan deal from Brighton.

They report that Fabian Hurzeler’s side haven’t ‘flatly rejected’ this and could also be open to a cheap loan deal.

The 24-year-old is interested in a switch to Turin and this is seen as the first important step for Juve, who now want to find an agreement with Brighton.

Bianconeri general director Damien Comolli will be key, as he is considering making a formal approach in the next few days.

The Old Lady’s move can hinge on sales and if some exits do go through in Turin, it can help them make a more acceptable move for O’Riley.

The ex-Celtic player is now seen as a better fit for Igor Tudor, who views O’Riley as a more attacking option than main target Morten Hjulmand.
