Manchester United are gearing up for the first weekend of the new Premier League season.
The 2025/26 Premier League is almost upon us.
Manchester United will kick off their campaign against Arsenal at Old Trafford on Sunday.
After finishing 15th in the Premier League last term, United start the season against rivals who are expecting to challenge for the title. Arsenal finished as runners-up to Liverpool previously, but now Mikel Arteta will be hoping to take the next step by delivering league success to the Emirates.
Most notably, Arsenal have signed Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP, and Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad.
Ruben Amorim’s United side will go into the game as underdogs, but the new summer signings will be keen to impress and secure three points in the opening weekend.
That means it is time for pundits to make their predictions for the season as well as the first game week.

Neville is confident that United can clinch three points to start the 2025/26 season on a high, saying: “United are winning that.”
Keane then replied: “I’d go Arsenal, 2-1.”
Neville: “I’m going United, 2-1.”
Keane: “Defensively Arsenal are going to give up two goals?”
Neville: “I just think it’s a really bad game for Arsenal to get first up. I think it’s a challenging game for Arsenal first up.”
The battle of Viktor Gyokeres vs Benjamin Sesko
Prior to the game, the headlines will likely focus on the fact both clubs have spent big on strikers this summer.
United have bought a new attacker following the additions of Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.
But this fixture means it’s a chance to start a new rivalry as Gyokeres looks to prove he was the right option for Arsenal, despite previously working with Amorim at Sporting CP.
Sesko missed pre-season with United and may be forced to sit out this one, depending on how he trains at Carrington this week.
