Newcastle United are closing in on a deal for Aston Villa star Jacob Ramsey, a package worth around £40 million looking enough to lure the academy graduate away from the club.
While the deal would be a huge financial boost for Unai Emery and Co as they battle to stay on the right side of the Premier League's spending rules, fans from both camps have been left with mixed emotions.
Whether it's the player's injury concerns, the fee involved, his attacking output or the fact Villa supporters are losing one of their own, there is a clear divide on whether the move is right for either club.
For the record, Ramsey only completed 90 minutes in the Premier League on two occasions last season, with just the one goal to his name. However, he did feature 46 times in total - enough for the club to offer him a new deal, even though he still has two years remaining in his current contract.
With no agreement sealed, Villa have now moved on to looking at other options without Ramsey - and a move to Newcastle - or elsewhere - certainly opens a lot of doors for Monchi and Co, who are responsible for the club's transfer activity.
Discussing Ramsey's imminent departure, Villa old boy and club fan Gabby Agbonlahor told talkSPORT listeners: "What can you do as a club when they've offered three contracts, and he's turned them down.

"His contract expires in June 2027? That's two years left. If you don't sell now and this carries on into January, 18 months left, what sort of offer are you going to get?
"So Aston Villa are probably looking at it and saying, 'Listen, if he's not going to sign a new contract on the terms that we have given him, then we need to sell now and make some money'.
"And some fans have been tweeting me and saying, 'Gabby, it's a good deal. He only scored one Premier League goal last season'.
"I don't look at him as a natural goal scorer, but I think he will be missed, one of our own and a local lad.
"The way he can carry that ball and create chances for others as well, he'll be a big miss and a great signing for Newcastle."
