Man Utd are weighing up a summer loan bid for PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.
PSG star on Man Utd wishlist
**Manchester United**’s summer recruitment has so far focused on adding firepower in attack. Now, attention is shifting to the backline, with Gianluigi Donnarumma emerging as a shock target.
The Italian was a key figure in PSG’s treble-winning campaign last season. He has been sidelined by Luis Enrique following the arrival of Lucas Chevalier. Donnarumma is in the final year of his contract and PSG are keen to cash in. Though United are reluctant to carry two costly keepers alongside Andre Onana. But, a loan move could work if terms are right.
The Red Devils have tried to find a buyer for Onana without success. That is despite offers from Saudi Arabia and Monaco earlier in the window. A short-term solution involving Donnarumma could give Ruben Amorim a top option between the sticks. However, PSG’s reluctance to approve a loan means Man Utd may need to work hard in transfer talks.

Transfer tug-of-war on the horizon
Donnarumma’s situation is becoming tense. Having delivered silverware in Paris, he now finds himself out of favour in the squad. Reportedly, he is very unhappy with the treatment he has received this summer. That could push for an exit on his own terms. That frustration might work in United’s favour, allowing them to secure a deal that suits all parties.
Still, the possibility of a permanent bid from other clubs looks likely. PSG would prefer an outright sale, and any strong move from another club could hammer Man Utd’s plans.
Meanwhile, Manchester City have been linked with the keeper. But, they are yet to show concrete intent. Until that changes, United remain in the race. If the deal goes through, Old Trafford could see one of Europe’s best goalkeepers. This is one chase that could run right to deadline day.
